Thoughts on Today's Verse...

I am confident that the Lord will say, "Well done, good and faithful servant!" Why? Not because I'm perfect, but Jesus has forgiven and cleansed me and the Holy Spirit is working to perfect my behavior to match my standing before God. I don't know about you, but I am thankful to know that we can bring the LORD delight. Just like our children can bring us delight. Just like a good desert can bring us delight. Just like a beautiful sunset enjoyed with someone we love brings us delight.

My Prayer...

May my words and my actions bring you delight, O LORD, my God! You have done so much for me, dear Father, I want to bring you great joy! In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Today's ~~FOOD FOR THOUGHT~~~

Teach them [God's commandments] to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

~Deuteronomy 11:19~

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

Moses gives us three crucial messages about God's commandments. First, as parents, it is our responsibility to teach them to our children -- not the responsibility of the government, or of the schools, nor even our churches. Second, we are to teach them in the everyday course of life as we go about our routines as a family. Third, we are to teach them continuously by both our words and our lives as we raise our children.

My Prayer...

O LORD God, please bless me as I seek to impart my faith to others, especially to those in my family. Please bless me with a consistent and faithful witness to them, the right words to say when the time is right, and the courage, sensitivity to say it with loving respect, and the courage to live as a strong Christian example for my children and grandchildren. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Prayers for our soldiers!!!!

Good morning and happy eve, eve, eve of Thanksgiving....wow this year has flown by, maybe the saying "the older you get the faster the days go by" is true. I pray you are having a wonderful day, that you are not stressing to much about the feast for Thursday! Remember nothing is perfect except for God's love and that even if you don't have everything done just the way you like...it will still be wonderful.

I sat for a very long time this morning giving thanks to our Father in heaven for allowing me to be in his world, I sat before the sun came up in the dark, quiet of my little home and lifted prayer for you and yours asking God to make provision for each and every human today, that HE hold you gently in HIS arms today filling you with hope, that HE nudges you in the direction HE needs for you to go so that you can light the path for someone in need, asking HIM to allow the veil to be thin so that you can feel and sense the spirit of that loved one you miss so badly....Heavenly Father I come to you on bended knees asking for your love to be impressed upon each of us, asking that you answer our prayers and that you allow us knowledge that you will never leave or forsake us. Father as this holiday season approaches so many are away from their families, our soldiers on foreign grounds are struggling just to stay alive each day. Bless them Father with a shield of protection, bless them with an immense feeling of love in their hearts and an awesome feeling of respect from each of us here who are with family and friends, who are enjoying freedom because of them. 

Father God, we are so grateful for the courage and selflessness of our brave troops. 

Extend your guidance over all of them today and every day, Lord God, that your kingdom of love, grace and mercy may inhabit all the earth. 

Send your Holy Spirit to each of them and their families at home, to comfort and strengthen them until their loved one returns, and to be with them as they learn and grow in your spirit. 

Father, we remember all those who have gone before us and pray that you lift them to your highest heaven. 

Finally, we pray for our enemies, Lord, and for all their captive peoples. Bring the light of your Son and our Savior into their hearts and minds. 

In Jesus' holy name. Amen.

Good morning and happy Sunday...first I have to shout it out~~~GO TEXANS~~~okay now I can commence in writing...Unfortunately I will have to listen to the game on the computer today as it is not being broadcast.....

I pray your day is going well and that you are excited for Thanksgiving...I wish for you a week filled with wonder and a Thanksgiving day with family and friends! Hug your family each and every day and never let them doubt your love for them.

In prayer this morning I asked God to guide me with words as to what he needed to have said today....as I sat there in the silence wrapped in his loving arms I was impressed with the feeling that I needed to talk about being the light to someone in darkness. There are so many going through so much right now, our country seems to be in a shambles, there is so much dissension, so  much fear, so much anger, so much negative...how can any of us no be affected by all of this mania? I see death each and every day, I see people battling disease, I see so many suffering heartache and heartbreak, I see so many clawing just trying to stay above water....I see so much sadness and woe. Every thing I read in the news is negative, so many I see while I am out and about are looking at the ground as they walk, shoulders rounded, back slightly stooped as if they are walking to the gallows, I see frowns, frowns, frowns as if there is nothing to be happy about, I see others and myself feeling depression....is there no happiness???? Now I am not talking about everyone, I do see uplift and inspiration, I do see ones who have overcome the ugly in the world, I do see the ones who find good in most everything and who give thanks for each and every thing in their lives, even when things are not working out the way they wish it would, they still find good and feel blessed. I try everyday to find something good, it really is not that difficult, just look around you, God lays little treasures at our feet no matter where we trod, he is constantly throwing beauty around but many times we are so intent at keeping pity and pain in our hearts that we don't even see! Today instead of concentrating on what I do not have, on what I cannot do, on what I am lacking in...I am going to light my candle, my internal candle and I am going to seek out those who are in need of a light, I am going to share mine in the hopes that their heart wick will be alit and that they can move forward and share their light where there is need. So if you are feeling like you are in the dark, if you are in need of a little light...I am here and am glad and eager to share with you....I pray that you will do the same, we all have the light of Christ within, sometimes we just need a little extra boost getting ours lit!

Now I have the song...this little light of mine on my mind!!! I'm gonna let it shine!!! :)
