Good evening, I pray that this day has been a good one for each of you! Today was very simplistic and filled with much rest, many long talks with God, much thanksgiving for the blessings he bestows upon me and mine, and many prayers for those who have come to me and asked that we pray for them. I have a precious story to share, my grand baby, Dakota was in my lap today and we were talking, she has a boo-boo on her leg and was being a bit dramatic about it, I asked if I should cut the leg off to make the boo-boo go away, I then taught her the word amputation, at age 4 she amazes me at how large her vocabulary is and how she hungers to learn new words. I then told her of my friend here on facebook that is in threat of loosing her leg due to infection, she said "MiMi, wait just a minute...I am going to pray to God to make her boo-boo better so she does not get her leg amputated (saying the word perfectly) she got out of my lap, ran down the sidewalk, loudly and proudly praying for my friend, she even closed it with in the name of Jesus Christ, amen. I was so touched that this little cherub is aware enough to know about prayer, she is amazing! Oh I love this child:)
I wish for each of you a wonderful new week, one filled with great peace and calm and one in which you feel loved and appreciated every step of the way. Love to you in Christ amen, and please join me in continued prayer for those so desperately in need of mercy, grace, and healing. We can make a difference if we believe and hold fast to our faith. God bless you!
Prayer for a New Week
by Holley Gerth
Lord,
A new week is beginning...
already I feel the rush.
Slow me down, Lord.
Slow me to the beat of Your heart.
I think of Your words that say
those who wait on You
will run and not grow weary--
and I remember that rest
is not about lack of motion
but rather moving forward with You
so that activity is a blessing not a burden.
I will run this week--there is much to do
but help me do so in a way
that keeps me by Your side.
Waiting and working,
only You could tie those together.
Please do so for me today.
Amen.
