No short stories tonight, just pure and fervent requests for prayer....

Good evening my friends, I pray your day has been a good one. I come to you with a heavy heart this evening as I sit and watch the destruction and the devastation of the storms that have ravaged cities in the states of Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, and Virginia. As I sit and hear the eye witness accounts of these tornados my heart grows heavier and heavier. Then the story of the baby found in a field close to her home having been taken from her family and tossed like a ball to another area, her family, father, mother, and two siblings losing their lives and the baby in critical condition...WHAT is happening here? As the death toll rises, as people begin to dig out and become aware of all that they have lost, as those who have lost loved ones begin to feel the full impact, I ask each of you to join me in prayer. Please come often and pray with us as there are so many in need of  comfort and compassion. We have need for many miracles that can only be given by the hand of our Precious God.

Our Father in Heaven,
You are our Savior who saves to us amid the storm.
You are our Comforter who comes to us in our pain.
You are in life, in death, in life beyond death our only hope.

We pray this day for all those who suffer in body or soul, particularly our sisters and brothers in the storm ravaged states, who have suffered pain and loss because of the storms that left destruction and devastation. We ask your comforting presence among those who struggle in the destruction and the loss. We pray for your guidance for those who feel overwhelmed and over burdened by the aftermath of the storms.

We give you thanks for all those who have already been on the scene going through the rubble, in the search and rescue mode, those beginning to make donations and to give time where needed. Thank you for motivating so many to reach out  in times of need.

Lord, you have never left us alone in our need. Time and again you come to us amid the storm. Thus we have hope, hope not in ourselves or our own devices but rather hope based upon your faithfulness and upon our experience of your steadfast love.

In the name of Jesus Christ we pray for mercy, grace and favor.
Amen.

If you would like to add a prayer please feel free to do so in the comment section and I will change it over to a blog post so that many can share in your prayer as well. God bless you all for taking time to show your love for those in need.

Father, I ask that you help my son to stop drinking and heal his depression. Tonight he was imitating putting a gun to his head and killing himself. Please remove these thoughts from him and release him from satan's bondage. I ask this in the name of your son Jesus. Thank you.

Father I join in prayer with this parent filled with worry and fear for her son, touch the heart of this son and take away all that is fueling his fire to drink and have thoughts of such negative actions. God you are the healer of all, you are the only one who can save him, allow him to open his eyes to right and wrong, allow him to fall on the floor in humility and reach out to you. Allow his parent to be filled with knowledge of how to handle this situation and to act upon it so that this life might be saved both physically and spiritually. In the name of Jesus Christ we ask you for these favors, Amen.

I stand in prayer with you in the quest to overcome your will to do things that you know in your heart are not pleasing to our Father in heaven, things that are not pleasing are seen, they are easily attainable and are not of pureness nor goodness. You have taken the first step in the battle, the next step is trust in God and will...in this quest you will be hit harder than ever before for satan does not want to lose his grip on you, he does not want to no be able to count you as his own...Hold fast to your faith, reach out your hand to our Lord and let go of the ropes that are binding you from moving forward in the footsteps to freedom and everlasting life. God be with this person, give the knowledge that you will never let there be failure as long as you are in the heart and at the forefront of all actions. Bless this longing person with your unconditional love and understanding, In the name of Jesus Christ I ask for mercy and favor. Amen.
