Good morning, I pray that your day is off to a good start, that you are filled with much joy and that laughter is on the top of your list of "must do's" today! It is a warm morning here, even though there is a nice breeze the wind is really warm for this early in the day....I am believing summer has finally come to Utah:) We are supposed to be in the mid 90's!!!
"All is well with my soul" that has been my mantra as of late, I have put all of my worries and stresses on the shelf and I am doing what I love to do, painting!!! I have laid it all in the lap of our Father in heaven and am believing that he will carry us through when times are the toughest...I used to say these very words and then as soon as they were out of my mouth the anxiety would once again come and slap me in the face....meaning that I was really not giving them over to him! I was merely saying what I wanted to feel but not really believing it! What has happened to cause this change in me? To many times I have freaked out over the "dont' haves" and the "can't make its" and in the last and final hour God has made provision for us, as if saying.."silly girl, I told you I would not let you fail" So these days I am just believing and know that he will NOT let us fail:)
All month I have been sharing stories of kindness and compassion so I would like to share with you this morning another one, I love the way reading these makes me feel, and I love knowing that it is making a difference and putting you in the "service to others" mind set...keep on keepin on..I know that it is making our Father in heaven happy to see how one small act of kindness can become contagious and be carried throughout the day..I have always believed that Jesus can manifest himself and test us personally...you never know if the one you are helping really is Christ himself..how will you measure up if it is? I pray that he will take you into his arms and tell you that it was he who you took time to help!!!
SOMETIMES IT’S NOT THE WEALTH YOU HAVE BUT WHAT’S INSIDE YOU THAT OTHERS NEED.
STORY
A WISE WOMAN WHO WAS TRAVELING IN THE MOUNTAINS FOUND A PRECIOUS STONE IN A STREAM. THE NEXT DAY SHE MET ANOTHER TRAVELER WHO WAS HUNGRY, AND THE WISE WOMAN OPENED HER BAG TO SHARE HER FOOD.
THE HUNGRY TRAVELER SAW THE PRECIOUS STONE AND ASKED THE WOMAN TO GIVE IT TO HIM. SHE DID SO WITHOUT HESITATION. THE TRAVELER LEFT, REJOICING IN HIS GOOD FORTUNE. HE KNEW THE STONE WAS WORTH ENOUGH TO GIVE HIM SECURITY FOR A LIFETIME.
BUT A FEW DAYS LATER HE CAME BACK TO RETURN THE STONE TO THE WISE WOMAN. "I'VE BEEN THINKING," HE SAID, "I KNOW HOW VALUABLE THE STONE IS, BUT I GIVE IT BACK IN THE HOPE THAT YOU CAN GIVE ME SOMETHING EVEN MORE PRECIOUS.
GIVE ME WHAT YOU HAVE WITHIN YOU THAT ENABLED YOU TO GIVE ME THE STONE.
THE STONE OF THE WOMAN IS PRECIOUS, BUT SHE WAS WILLING TO GIVE UP THE PRECIOUS STONE TO ANOTHER PERSON WHO WANTED IT. SHE DIDN'T REALIZE THAT HER SELFLESS GESTURE HAD MADE A DIFFERENCE TO THE OTHER PERSON.
IT MADE THE PERSON REALIZED THAT THERE IS SOMETHING MORE VALUABLE THAN THE VALUE OF THE PRECIOUS STONE HE RECEIVED FROM THE WOMAN, THAT IS - HER CHARACTER.
IN LIFE, SOMETIMES, WE ARE NOT AWARE HOW WE ARE TO OTHERS, OR WHAT IMPORTANCE WE DO AND SHARE WITH PEOPLE AROUND US, TO PEOPLE WE KNOW, AND TO PEOPLE WE DON’T KNOW.
