"Tooting our own horns" is not the sweetest sound!!!.

  TGIF, and TGIF...I am sure this phrase has crossed your mouths at least once this morn. It is beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, out this morning! I say this each day on here...IT REALLY IS!!! We have blue skies, sunshine, a nice breeze and to top it all off our temperature is 48 degrees, perfect with sweats and my "betty blankie"!

Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my sighing.
Listen to my cry for help,
my King and my God,
for to you I pray.
In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice;
in the morning I lay my requests before you
and wait in expectation.
 -- Psalm 5:1-3

     This morning I would like to ask you to join me in a prayer that is special and specific for those who are just receiving the diagnosis that they have cancer in their bodies, I was made aware by a close friend that one of her friends had just received the news that she has breast cancer, I cannot even begin to say how I would react if that was something that the doctor was telling me, so many are receiving this diagnosis and although we pray for them when it is made aware to us, we are not there for them in the first few hours/days before it is made public. I ask God this morning to lay hands upon those who are receiving this diagnosis, that the words coming from the physicians mouths will no be words such as that of a death sentence but words that say...we need to prepare you for the battle as you are being thrown in the ring, you are strong, you are a fighter, you are a winner and you can get through this fight! I ask God to allow his strength to be yours as you digest this news and make plans on how you will allow it to effect you and your body! I ask God to fill you with the knowledge that YES this is not a good diagnosis, but it is not something that you cannot get through. I pray that you are filled with determination and grit and that once over the initial shock that you puff out your chest, set your jaw and tell God that with his help you are going to beat this! In Jesus name I ask God to allow you to feel his love and his support, amen. I sat for a while and then said my normal morning prayers making note to include first diagnosis' in my everyday prayers, I prayed for each of you that today will be a day of only good things, that you will feel the presence of God all around you and that you will be pleasing to him in all of your dealings! As I was closing my prayer a very important thought crossed my heart, something that I know needs to be said, something that is a thorn in my paw and something that I know God was reminding me to add! How many times has someone done something nice for you and you felt loved and very special, you so appreciated their kindness and you thanked God for it? You felt humbled that they would go out of their way to make you feel special and you asked God to bless them for being this way...then boom...they have to go and puff themselves up by letting everyone else know what a good thing THEY have done for you... when we do something good for someone it is supposed to be because we have goodness in our hearts and God knows what we are doing, he sees how we are giving of ourselves...we do not have to go and "shine the light" upon ourselves and tell everyone else what a good person we are!!! That is God's job, he is the one who rewards us for the good things we do in our lives, when we pat our own backs it takes away from the blessings we would otherwise have received for being selfless! The next time we do something good for someone we must remember that God knows and he will make known our good deed with blessings, we do not need to go out and toot our own horns!!! Don't do things with intent of return, do things because your heart tells you to and then let God give you the thumbs up, in the end the only "thumbs ups" that matter are the ones for our Father in Heaven!
      I pray that this day will be one that is filled with love and laughter, that no matter where you are there is a smile on your face that brightens the darkness for others, that there is love oozing from your pores that will give others hope and that there is time for you to sit and chat with Father God, his line is always available for you:) Take time for yourself and hear the music! Love to each of you in Christ, amen!
