Good morning and happy Wednesday, we are at 33 degrees this morning, clear blue skies, little to no wind at all and sunshine. I sat out for a bit this morning and was hoping that in the sun it would be okay for me to blog but I began to get a chill and decided it would be more beneficial for me to blog from behind the glass! So I came inside, threw open my window covering, and am now sitting in the sun that is filtering through the window..now I know why my little dog likes to lay in this area in the morning, it is very warm and cozy sitting here!
This morning in prayer I said my usual prayers and then prayed for those who have come with special, specific prayer request and was coming to a close when I began to think about a young man in a foreign country whom I have befriended and often times talk to about religion and faith, it seems that each time he is really praying for a his needs, and for assistance, that he gives up if it is not answered immediately, he begins to have "un-pure" thoughts as soon as he does not get his way, he does not give God time to present to him a plan of action, he just decides that he will have to take matters into his own hands..he gives up before he even gives God a chance! Another of my friends was praying for some pretty big progress recently and because God did not help him to meet the deadline he had set for himself he "gave up" and had to redirect the course of his plans...COME ON...I must have missed the part in the bible that says if God does not meet your "deadline" then you do not have to hold fast to your faith, I must have mis- read the book of JOB because I have always believed that "when the kitchen gets to hot you bake bread!" There is always a silver lining, in every situation there is something we can learn, we can grow from what we learn and we can increase our "faith meter" if we give up every time HE does not allow us to meet our expectations then what it is all for? You either have faith all of the time or none of the time, you can't just have faith when you have need! You have to look at all situations with GOD as your sidekick, you don't just kick him to the curb when life becomes sour! When it gets hard, you dig your feet in, you squeeze tighter and you cling for dear life to your faith! HOW?? WHY?? Often times in life I have come to places where I could not see a happy ending, where I could see no way out of a situation I was in, people that come to me with huge problems, who cannot see light at the end of the tunnel, I hear horror stories from people about this or that and the next time I see them or when I call to inquire as to the outcome, they say," oh we dodged another bullet", and they are fine until the next, life as they know it, drama comes along! COME ON, can you not see that with faith, things always work themselves out, can you not see that it is in GOD's time, it is his plan, it is his book, he wrote the words and you know full well that he will never set you up for failure, we set ourselves up, and then when we fail we deny him, we blame him, we question him. Today I have problems in my life, as I did yesterday and the day before, I am sure tomorrow will hold some as well, but I know that there is no problem that I cannot overcome with the assistance of God. I know that there will be times when I cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel...ships in the ocean who find themselves caught in massive storms cannot see the lighthouse on the shore at times, but they know it is there and they keep on going until they can see it so that it can guide them home. Don't fall into the "oh ye of little faith" category...be like JOB and believe, be like the old sailors who know the light is out there and keep on pushing forward until you see it! Don't tell God how big your problem is, tell your problem how big your God is!
I closed my prayer by asking God to ease each of our hearts this day, that he would give us extra special promise that he is the light that is standing there, that we can go to him with anything and know that he will guide us through it, that even the hardest of trials can be overcome if we trust and believe he is with us, that he will carry us when we are to weak to make it, if only we ask. I asked these mercies for myself and for you today in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
"NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER GIVE IN, HOLD FAST TO YOUR FAITH, AND YOU SHALL WIN!!!!!"(Dawn-ism)
