How do poor people live?

Good morning and happy eve of Thanksgiving, we have beautiful sunshine, 45 degrees and such a beautiful morning. I love getting to sit and have my morning prayer bathed in the sunshine of our creator, I love breathing the fresh air and feeling warmth of his love! We are forecast for a bit of snow tomorrow with our high being only 44 degrees...I am so thankful that the last minute errands are not slowed or jeopardized with risky driving weather today!
In prayer as I sat and surrounded by all of God's grace, I thanked him again for the wonderful daughter I have, this week of chatting has been amazing, she is the most beautiful, smart, funny, compassionate, loving woman I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I have been so blessed in having her in my life, no distance can ever break the love and admiration I hold in my heart for her. I asked God to bless each of you with all of your needs today, and I prayed that in him blessing you that you would take time to be a blessing to someone who otherwise might not feel his love today. Not because his love is not there but because "life" has taken something from them, has dimmed their faith and made them deaf to the still quiet voice. I prayed that your example will allow them to hear a faint song of the angels, that it would allow them to know there is hope if they only get "on bended knees" and ask God to lead and guide them back to Christ's footsteps. I asked God to wrap his arms around and calm any fears that we may be having this day, to bring peace into any chaos that might be transpiring and to bring comfort into our bodies so that no one suffers pain! Be prayerful more than ever today asking God to show you the weak and the weary so that you might be in His service and bring the entire meaning of thanksgiving to light! I asked for these blessings and mercies to be given in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
I have been posting short stories as you know, and although this is one I have read several times it still serves as an awakener to me each time I read it...what is the meaning of being rich to you? Is richness measured in your assets and your possessions. I love the fact that children see it differently and that they understand it with more wisdom than many adults do. God bless you all this day and know that you are loved and so appreciated. Know that you can make a difference every day if only you listen to the quiet, still, voice:)

The Visit

One day, the father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the express purpose of showing him how poor people live.

They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.
On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, 'How was the trip?'

'It was great, Dad.'

'Did you see how poor people live?' the father asked.
'Oh yeah,' said the son.

'So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?' asked the father.

The son answered, "I saw that we have one dog and they had four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night. Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon.

We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight.

We have servants who serve us, but they serve others. We buy our food, but they grow theirs.

We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them."

The boy's father was speechless.

Then his son added, 'Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are.'
