God is not waiting for us to do something big...He is watching every little thing we do....

Good morning and Happy Tuesday...the sun has come out to play this morning and the snow that was laid upon the ground yesterday morning is almost gone...the high for today is 46 then it is forecast to be in the high 60's, low 70's for the remainder of the week...singing sweet praises for that. I am so ready for spring, even though we had a very mild winter, the spring is looking mighty inviting! 

In prayer this morning I gave thanks to Heavenly Father for loving me the way he does, and for allowing me to see answers to the many prayers we pray here on this blog, thank you for showing us that the writing in the bible are true and for encouraging us each day to walk the straight path back to you. I thanked him for answering yesterdays prayer asking that my friend Star be able to have her surgery today, she is indeed having her surgery and I know through the power of prayer from all who ask, that she will come through without incident and soon be able to come home for good and be with her family who have watched her struggle so in the last few months. She has suffered to the extreme Father and never once given up on her faith in your healings, that you for allowing us to see this type of strength and for being so inspired by someone struggling so. I pray for the sweet baby who will be having heart surgery tomorrow, Father we ask that if it be your will, that you lay a hand upon this baby keeping him strong and with will to come through and be made whole again, we ask that you guide the hands of the surgeons so that they are precise and have superb skill as they tend his heart and we ask that you calm and comfort all of his loved ones, filling them with the knowledge that you are holding their little one each and every step of the way. Father I pray for all who have come to us with requests as I do each morning and again each evening take away pain, take away struggle, take away anger and rage. Father for today allow each of us to only feel strength, power, and hope. Provide us with calm, comfort and peace. I ask these blessings in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Every Little Thing

I have always wanted to do something big in my life. Since I was a boy watching those old television cowboys rescuing people on a runaway stage or those heroic tv firemen saving a baby from a burning building, I wanted to do something like that. Well, almost 44 years have gone by now and I still haven’t done anything even close to that. 

Still, today when I took my dogs out for their morning walk I made sure to give each of them a pet on the head first. Today before breakfast was over I made sure that I gave each of my children a hug and told each one of them that I loved them. Today instead of rushing into the grocery store I pulled the door open wide and held it so an elderly lad with a walker could go before me. Today before I pulled out on the road I motioned another driver on a side street to go on ahead of me. Today when I had to stop driving for road work I didn’t complain and instead gave a friendly wave to the highway worker holding the stop sign. Today instead of walking past the people in my office I stopped to exchange a few kind words. Today on the way back to my home I stopped to give a hitchhiker a ride back to his. Today when I answered e-mails and wrote letters I tried to pass on a little encouragement and inspiration in each one of them. Today when I took a break in the evening to read a book I made room on my lap for a cat wanting its head scratched. Today as I moved from task to task I paused to talk to God, to thank Him for my life, to tell Him again how much I loved Him, and to ask Him to fill me with His love always. Today I did my best to live well and to love deeply. 

You see, I learned a while ago that God isn’t waiting for us to do something big in our lives. God instead is watching every little thing we do. It is the little things that are important. It is the little things that make up our lives. And it is in the little things that we can best share our love.
