Let us all listen to our better angels.....

Good evening and happy Saturday night, I am sorry the hour is so late in getting this posted. I was feeling very tired this evening and when lupus tells you to lay down and rest...it is time to lay down and rest..I am feeling much better although the hour is late and who knows if I will be able to sleep through the night! I pray your evening is going well and that you are getting to spend quality time with those who reside in your heart.

I ask God to bless you with all of your needs and to be ever present in all that you do, to hold you when you are weak, to comfort you when you hurt, to calm you when you are upset and to comfort you when you cry. I thanked him for the unconditional love that he gives us and for all of the blessings he gives us, the ones of which we are aware as well as the ones we have no clue to. I asked him to continue to bless those who have come with prayer requests that we have lifted to him and to allow us to see more and more miracles. I asked these things in the name of Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.

Listening To Our Better Angels

I was driving my daughter home from college for the weekend on a Fall Friday afternoon. The air was warm, the sun was shining, the sky was clear, and God’s paintbrush had just begun to color the mountains of my home. Spectacular reds, yellows, and oranges glowed from the trees and kept a smile glowing on my own face as we drove up the narrow mountain road. As I rounded a curve I saw an old gentleman who I knew didn’t own a car walking the way we were going. I was happy then to give him a lift since it was on our way home.

Two days later I was driving up the same road on a Sunday afternoon after taking my daughter back to college. A cold rain was falling from an overcast sky and the fallen leaves on the road were slick and caused me to drive extra slow. As I neared the top of the mountain road I noticed the same old gentleman only this time headed back down the mountain. He smiled and waved as we drove by and at that very moment I heard one of my better angels whispering in my ear. I listened to the gentle voice telling my heart what to do, turned my car around, and gave that kind, old man a ride back down the road. I shook his hand, accepted his thanks, and headed home.

The trip cost me 20 minutes of my time and maybe half a gallon of gas. The peace that filled my heart, though, was worth all the money in the world. I drove home singing along with the radio, wrapped in a blanket of love and joy, and surrounded by all of my better angels.

We all should listen to our better angels. We all should pay heed to those quiet voices we hear in our hearts, souls, and minds. They are a guide for good and the guidance of God. They help us to help others and ourselves. They fill us with the peace of knowing that we are living as God’s Children in this world. How do we recognize these angels? They are always the voices of love and they always lead us to joy. Listen closely then. Heaven may be speaking to your heart.

Sometimes it takes a lot of broken dreams until we find our true purpose in life.

Good evening my friends, I pray your day has been a wonderful day and that you are now home with family preparing for the calm of the day and ready to rest and relax. The storm is finally moving in now with the winds gusting and snow/rain pelting the windows. Now maybe my bones will stop aching and I can get some relief.

In prayer this evening as I bowed my head and found my silent place, I thanked my Father in heaven for all that he does for me and mine and for this day to praise him. I love my time with our Father in Heaven but sometimes it is difficult to find that silent place and when I do find it, I tend to not want to let it go. I prayed my normal usual prayers asking God to continue to bless all who we have been praying for, to hold those suffering in his arms as long as it takes for them to stand alone. I asked him to hold each of us in his loving arms, to fill us with his strength, his peace, his calm, his comfort and his unconditional love. I ask for mercy, favor and blessings for all in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen

I love the following story below, do you have something that warms your heart and that you go to in memory when things get rough for you?

I
Mom’s Soup

It was one of the hardest days of my young life. I was a 13 year old freshman trying out for the high school football team. It was the first day of full contact in helmets and pads and my 110 pound body had been knocked to the ground more times than I could count. It had become clear as the practice went on that there was no way I was ever going to be able to compete against the bigger, faster, and stronger boys. My dream of being a high school football star had been crashed to the ground along with my bruised and battered body.

I made it home sore, sullen, and sad and my Mom met me at the door. She could see I was troubled in a glance and had me sit at the kitchen table. I think she knew all along what was going to happen that day. She warmed me up a bowl of soup to hold me until dinner. While I sipped at its warm broth I felt her hand gently rubbing my aching back. We never said a word, but by the time the soup was done I was feeling better again. I knew I was loved and that was all that mattered.

I have carried that memory in my heart all of these years. Even today, no matter what problems or difficulties life throws at me a bowl of soup always raises my spirits. Sometimes I can even feel Mom’s gentle hand rubbing my back from Heaven and see her beautiful face smiling down on me with love.

In this world all of us have had our dreams crashed to the ground at one time or another. Sometimes it takes a lot of broken dreams until we find our true purpose in life too. God is always there, though, to comfort us, to remind us that we are loved, and to help us back to our feet again. May you always rejoice in the love God has for you and may you always share your own love freely be it with a kind act, a gentle touch, or even a bowl of soup.

Evening call to prayer! Join us if you will, so many are in need, lets share the love of God with them!

good evening friends, once again I come to you in request for you to join me in prayer, so many are in need, I am in need, we all need the love of Christ and our Heavenly Father to bless us! Join me if you will...mass prayer produces miracles!!!!

Evening call to prayer, will you get "on bended knees" and pray with me?

As night comes upon us, and this day comes to a close, we prepare for the next paragraph in our book of life! I pray that this day the dreaded MONDAY has been a good one for you, that you welcomed it with a great attitude and that you have been able to see good results! Today has been a "swelling" day for me, I have health problems and sometimes my legs, ankles, and feet will swell to the point of bursting open, I know they will  not rupture but it sure seems to the point, so I ask if you would say a prayer for me, I am due to travel tomorrow and can only imagine if the swelling does not come down, how uncomfortable and horrible the drive will be! Thank you for always lifting prayers, for joining me when I call out and for praying for me when I am in need! This morning I made the call for special prayers for a dear lady and her children who are saying goodbye to husband and father, I ask that you continue to pray for her, when we marry and have children I think we never think about having to say goodbye to our spouse, please lift her to our Father in Heaven that she might feel comfort, calm and peace and that his children know that their dad is in heaven now, waiting for the day that God bring them and his wife home to him. I ask you to join me in continued prayer for all those suffering, to continue prayer for those who are away from their loved ones as the holiday weekend is fast approaching, for those who are overseas fighting as we celebrate our independence  with bbq, cold drinks, laughter, joy, and fireworks... they fight so that we can keep our independence and freedom! Also please if you have special prayer request, if you know of someone in need, either comment here or leave it on my facebook page so that we can add it to our circle of prayer. I have seen the power of prayer, I have seen miracles and I know that if we humbly pray, we can make a difference! If you would like to be a part of the circle of prayer please join my blog spot, I try and post prayers as they are requested so that we can pray right then and there, this is so very important and I look forward to praying with you! Love in Christ to each of you, you are important and you are loved!!! God bless each of you with peaceful sleep, beautiful dreams and may the day look hope filled and joyful when you arise!

A Prayer by Thomas Merton
from
Thoughts in Solitude

My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think that I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so. But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you. And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire. And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road though I may know nothing about it. Therefore will I trust you always though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death. I will not fear, for you are ever with me, and you will never leave me to face my perils alone.
