As his spirit rises up, he takes God's hand and is not afraid.
I am so sad to write this today, my heart is breaking and I can only imagine what this sweet family is feeling! I have known this lady since I was in 7th grade in school, that is many, many, many years. She took the time way back when to see that there was a need for my father to be "okay" with black people and she made sure that before the time was over that he did. This lady was more than just a friend, she became my sister, she became my strength and she became one of the best memories of my life. Today she is hurting, her heart is shattered, she is feeling so sad and confused, how could this be, her 3 year old grandson has slipped beyond the bonds of this earth and has been escorted home holding hands with our Father in heaven. Why did this little man have to suffer so, why did his little body have to be so vulnerable? Still he battled, he fought a good fight and he was pure LOVE while he was here, for each member of this family he was LOVE. Today I ask each of you to join in and lift prayers for peace, calm, and comfort for them, asking God to show them the "how" to get through this and continue forward in their daily deeds. Father bless them with the love and understanding that only you can give and allow them to nestle into your love filled lap for as long as it takes for them to find what they are looking for, be their strength when the path seems to be to rocky and be their will to keep moving on. Father we know that you personally came and took this little man home, we know that you held his hand and gently whispered to him not to be afraid, you held his hand as you walked him through the gates of heaven and you dried his tears as he was overcome with the beauty there. Father continue to hold him until he is in the arms of the ones who have gone before him and allow the angels to minister to him! Father bless this family with knowledge that as long as we follow the teachings of the gospel, as long as we cherish you, and as long as we walk the path that Jesus has laid out for us, that we all will be re~united in paradise, allow them knowledge that this is not goodbye, it is only "until we meet again" In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ we ask special favor of mercy, grace, comfort and understanding for this family. Amen
A Child Loaned
"I'll lend you for a little time A child of Mine." He said. "For you to love the while he lives And mourn for when he's dead.
It may be six or seven year Or twenty-two or three But will you, till I call him back Take care of him for Me?
He'll bring his charms to gladden you And should his stay be brief, You'll have his lovely memories As solace for your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay Since all from Earth return, But there are lessons taught down there I want the child to learn. I've looked this wide world over In my search for teacher's true, And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes, I have selected you;
Now will you give him all your love, Nor think the labour vain Nor hate Me when I come to call And take him back again?
I fancied that I heard them say, "Dear Lord, Thy will be done, For all the joy Thy child shall bring, For the risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness, We'll love him while we may, And for the happiness we've known, Forever grateful stay. But should the angels call for him Much sooner than we planned, We'll brave the bitter grief that comes And try to understand."
