Good morning and happy Tuesday, we have continued to pray fervently for all of the folks who have been affected by the ravages of the storms in the last few days. I cannot even begin to comprehend the amount of devastation that I am seeing on the news channels. In the blink of an eye our world can change, in one storm our world can be picked up, twirled around, and thrown back at us to never be what it was before. I ask you all this very day to pray for all who have been affected, to the ones who were first responders in plowing through to save as many lives as they could, to the teachers who shielded those poor babies with their own bodies not giving regard to themselves, to the entire townships who are now, this morning, coming together beginning to sift through the damage that once was called their lives, to the many agencies who have stood watch over night, who have searched and rescued, who have searched and recovered, who has put their emotions aside to make sure that others are taken care of....As I watched the children being pulled from the carnage handed from one rescuer to the next in the long line of procession I sobbed, these poor children I thought, what depth of fear there must have been in their hearts when the storm was ripping walls of protection away from them, what horror must have been in their little eyes as the roaring sound of the storm was on top of them, how alone they must have felt...the tears fall in a steady pace down my face on to my shirt and my heart is so heavy. We will never understand the why's of this storm, why it had to take so many sweet souls, why it had to hit these schools, the only understanding we can have now is HOW, to begin to pick up the pieces and to move forward, HOW we can look at the towns effected and know what we can do to help in the clean up and beginning of the rebuild. HOW can the ones who lost loved ones put one foot in front of the other and continue on in the quest that they call living? HOW Father God, show them HOW to get through the pain, the heartbreak, the bad dreams that will haunt them forevermore.
Father we come to you this morning, no words that we can say will be fervent enough to ask for help for this city that is waking to devastation this morning, we have seen so much disaster as of late, towns ravaged by storms, fires, senseless gunfire, cities torn apart never to be the same again. Father we bow our heads asking you for all of the support and comfort that you will give, that you will cover each person with your robes of comfort, that you will wash over them strength to get through one day at a time, that you will provide peace for all when they lay down tonight, no matter where they lay down you will give them the overwhelming sense that they will be come through this stronger and more faith filled than ever before. Father we love you and we do not question these events but we do ask you to show us how to get through as a nation, show us what we can do to help even if it be only in prayer. We love you so much and we ask that you be all over each one today. In the name of Jesus Christ we lift these prayers standing on our faith that the healing will begin and this town will recover. Amen
