I don't often make comment to the "FOOD FOR THOUGHT" but today's message is near and dear to my heart even more than I had thought! I have been witness so often to a new person seeking the Lord in church, they will come and everyone will be "all over them" it seems they are the most important people in the world, soon the person makes decision to join the church and then BOOM, they are not so important any more, I began to call this church the "dunk and chunk" church, reel them in by any means...get their name as a joined member...then forget them. My friends, we must continue fellowship more after the "joining" than before, once a person has made commitment to the Lord, satan works harder to win them back...let none of us be a party to this type of actions!! We must fellowship all of the time, we must never make that person feel like a "number" we must make them feel, always, like a brother or sister! God bless each of you with a wonderful rest of this day:)
Today's Verse
They preached the good news in that city and won a large number of disciples. Then they returned to Lystra, Iconium and Antioch, strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith.
— Acts 14:21-22 (NIV)
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Do you know a new Christian? Paul and Barnabas remind us that it is difficult becoming a Christian; there are hard times for new Christians! So let's make sure we don't just share the Gospel with them. Let's also stand by them, check on them, strengthen them, and encourage them.My Prayer...
Loving Father, please be with the new Christians in our church. Use me to be a source of encouragement to them and strength for them. May my life always be a positive influence on them and other new Christians as well. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.http://www.verseoftheday.com/
