Good morning and happy Tuesday! I pray this finds each of you up and at em'. I am sitting here with my curtains wide open, my windows open and enjoying a cooler morning, it is 71 degrees out with the high of 78 forecast...after this past weekend and yesterday's record breaking heat...I am excited not to have to depend upon my little air maker to cool me!!!!
In my morning chat with God I gave thanks to him for each of you, the support you give me each day, the love you share, the compassion for others, the prayers you lift, the inspiration you give....so very appreciated, such a part of my life, I am blessed to have each of you. I asked for continued support, love, and comfort for those families suffering the loss of their sons over the weekend, and continued to ask for a miracle for the one young man clinging to life. Father God we understand that when you have need for us in heaven that we must be brought home but it is so difficult to let go, even though we know they have made it, they have passed the tests and have now crossed home plate, our need for them seems not to be finished. Please be with those families who are filled with such grief this day, calm their hearts and give peace to their minds. I asked for special blessings for all of my family and friends that they might have rest this day, emotional rest from the stresses in their lives and freedom from any pain they might be feeling. I asked God to continue to bless each of us with his loving arms wrapped around us, with his fingers pointing us and guiding us in the right direction, with his infinite love filling our hearts and his grand wisdom filling us with knowledge. Father God be with us this day and provide us with healing, with mercy, with grace and with joy. I ask these blessings for all in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
I love this little story and have chosen to live my life by this rule and I know that this is the simple basic key to we as a nation becoming united once again and standing on the principles of what is right! Will you join me today????
Two Simple Requests
The great, spiritual, Buddhist leader, the Dalai Lama often ends his talks by warmly asking two things of his audiences. This is what he says: "Our greatest duty and our main duty is to help others, and please, if you can’t help them, would you please not hurt them?" These two requests are so simple, yet they are so powerful too. Within them are common sense, wisdom, kindness, the Golden Rule, and the great commandment to "Love your neighbor as you love yourself."
Just think of how wonderful this world could be if all of us helped each other. Think of every child being held in loving arms. Think of a hand up for everyone who has fallen. Think of sweet smiles between strangers. Think of hugs of happiness between friends. Think of words of encouragement for every struggling student. Think of the sick being cared for, the lost being prayed for, and the elderly and disabled being watched over. Think of acts of kindness everywhere, blessing our lives and uplifting our spirits. Think of all of us connected together by helping hands and loving hearts.
And think of what would happen if even when we couldn’t help others we at least didn’t hurt them. What would happen if every time we felt a nasty comment coming to our mouth we placed our hand over it? What would happen if every time we raised a hand in anger we grasped it with our other hand and said a prayer instead? This whole world would feel more like Heaven because so many of us would be bringing Heaven here to Earth. Everything would be brighter because God’s love and light would be flowing out of each of our souls.
These two requests are so simple, but they have the strength to change your heart, and your life. They have the power to make this whole world better. May you always answer their call. May you always live a life of love, helpfulness, and happiness.
